You can't believe you actually did it. Getting a date with some cute person you know? Great! Gettinf a date with some cute person way out of your league? Impressive! Now, getting a date with the ruler of the entire Koopa Kingdom? Like winning a jackpot!
You've heard of him for quite some time, 'Just some huge, yellow turtle-dragon thing who yells all day,' people told you, but ever since you saw his picture, something about him made it so he couldn't escape your mind...
His features; they all made him stand out. At first, you thought you just found him cool, then, you thought it was a weird fixation, then, it devolved into feelings not so easily explainable.
Bowser's hot. Bowser's freaking hot.
Once you finally embraced that feeling, you thought you went mad for a while. Lo and behold, you just didn't know that was your type.
The circ*mstances leading up to your meeting were convoluted at best.
You still can't believe you went all the way from home to the Koopa Kingdom just to attend that speech, and you can't really forget how clumsy his team was.
The past, however, is of little importance; what really matters is the fact that you have a giant, suit-wearing lizard dad sitting in front of you as you two hold glasses of wine very awkwardly.
"...so... I, err... hope you are enjoying your stay!" Bowser grins.
With a soft chuckle, his face shifts downward, before briefly jumping up again.
"Oh! I know an icebreaker! I read this one in a magazine! So... uhm... what is... your favorite food?" he asks.
You quietly answer him, he grins.
"Mine is MEAT! MEAT BALLS!! STEAK!!! CHICKEN!!!! And, uhh, cake." he says.
The king smiles, but, as if inevitable, an awkward silence fills the room.
"...hm, I... think you look amazing today!" he says.
As sudden as it was, the compliment was still cute. You tell him that he looks great, too, and his eyes widen.
"Ahh!! Thank you!! No one's ever told me that before!!" If it wasn't for his scales, he'd be blushing.
Then it dawned on you. As powerful as he was, he must have felt pretty lonely if *that* was new to him.
"You're... lovely..." – he looks down and shuffles with his hands – " I, err, never had too much like with romance, har har... but..." – he looks back up at you – "I'm very lucky to be talking with someone like you."
Your heart started racing. He was cheesy, but GOD was he cute.
You tell him how you felt deep down, how much you wanted to be here, how much you've waited for it, and the king gets a little jumpy.
"A-ah!! R-really?! That- u-uhm... that... pleases me- I-I MEAN!! That... makes me smile." His deep voice can't hide just how shy he is like this.
You tell him he makes you smile, too.
You take a good look at him. Just like in the pictures, his shape can't escape you. There's nothing in the room that can your sight away from him. His red hair, his stylish white suit, his snout, his claws, they're all burned into your mind... WAIT!! What time is it?!
You ask Bowser what time it is, and he grabs his phone, which is tiny in his hands. He turns it on and shows you the time in his lockscreen, but before you can read it, you're drawn to his wallpaper: a picture of him and what looks like his son, together.
You stare at it for a while before he asks you if you're alright. You ask who's that in the picture.
"Oh! Har har... that is my son. I named him Bowser, just like me! Junior, he's... very sweet. A little mischievous ball of energy!" Bowser laughs out loud, the sound is similar to a roar.
You feel something warm your heart. Seeing Bowser so happy, holding his child like he's saying "Look! It's my little trophy!" fills you with an immense comfort. The image fades as the screen gets darker and darker.
Shoot, wait, the clock said 21:45! It's almost 10 pm!!
You note that it's late and thank Bowser for inviting you over. He smiles from cheek to cheek.
"Thank you... very much. Your presence has brought me much joy. Please, come anytime!" he says.
You both tell each other goodbye. Some underlings escort you back to the airport. After some time, you're on the plane back home.
As you look out of the window, you see his huge, grey castle with a massive emblem of his face on it. You already feel like you're missing the damn guy.
As thoughts of him dance around in your head, you watch the clouds pass by. Soon enough, you'll be home.
